Preparing Your Vehicle

  • Before pickup:

    • Wash your vehicle.

    • Remove personal belongings.

    • Leave about ¼ tank of fuel.

    • Remove toll tags and parking passes.

    • Disable alarms.

    • Check for leaks.

    • Take dated photos of your vehicle.

  • Limited personal items (generally up to 100 pounds, depending on the carrier) may be allowed, but we recommend removing valuables, fragile items, electronics, medications, and important documents.

    Ask us about your carrier's specific policy before loading your vehicle.

  • No.

    We can arrange transport for inoperable vehicles, but special loading equipment is required, so please let us know when requesting your quote.

Pickup & Delivery

  • Door-to-door service means your vehicle is picked up and delivered as close to your requested locations as it is legally and safely possible.

    If large transport trucks can't access your neighborhood due to low branches, narrow streets, or local restrictions, the driver will arrange a nearby meeting location.

  • Transit times vary depending on distance, weather, traffic, and carrier schedules.

    If you're unavailable, another adult (18+) can inspect and sign for your vehicle during pickup or delivery.

Insurance & Safety

    Every carrier we work with is licensed and insured. Coverage remains in effect while your vehicle is being transported.

    We'll also explain the inspection process and Bill of Lading before pickup.

  • Vehicle damage during transport is uncommon, but if it occurs:

    1. Note it on the Bill of Lading before signing.

    2. Take photographs.

    3. Notify Edge Transportation immediately.

    4. We'll help guide you through the carrier's claims process.

  • Absolutely.

    Open transport is the most common method used in the auto transport industry and is a safe, reliable, and cost-effective option for most vehicles.

  • Enclosed transport is recommended for:

    • Luxury vehicles

    • Exotic cars

    • High-value automobiles

    It provides added protection from weather and road debris.

Payment

  • Payment is typically collected once your carrier has been secured and your vehicle is scheduled for pickup. This means you are not paying before a carrier has been assigned to your shipment.

    To provide additional peace of mind, Edge Transportation also offers a two-part payment option if you prefer.

    Option 1: Single Payment

    • Pay the full amount once your carrier has been secured and your pickup is scheduled.

    Option 2: Split Payment

    • Pay the broker fee to Edge Transportation once your carrier is secured.

    • Pay the remaining balance directly to the carrier at pickup using an approved payment method such as Zelle, Cash App, cash, or another payment method accepted by the carrier.

    We'll review your payment option with you before booking so you know exactly what to expect. Our goal is complete transparency, with no hidden fees or surprises.
